John W. Tilly
John W. Tilly grew up in Scott, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana State University, where he studied history and was a member of The Tiger Band. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2005. John then attended Southern University Law Center, where he was an editor for the Law Review. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2009.
John began his clerkship with Gordon McKernan Law Firm in 2008 and was made an Associate upon passing the Bar exam in 2009. John represented hundreds of clients throughout Louisiana in a variety of personal injury cases, specifically Social Security Disability, Workers' Compensation and auto accidents.
John became a partner at Keaty & Tilly in 2013. His expertise includes estate planning, wills and successions, family law and personal injury law. He is a member of the Louisiana and Lafayette Bar Associations and the Saint Thomas More Society. John was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star 2017-2019 and is a Top Rated Personal Injury Lawyer and Top Rated Family Law Lawyer in Lafayette.
John is married to Judy Scroggs Tilly of Lake Charles, and they have four children. He is an active parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, where he served for six years on the St. Cecilia School Advisory Council. John is a past Grand Knight, Membership Director and Advocate of the Knights of Columbus Council 7557, for which he is still an active member. He is also a committee member for the KC Annual Priest Appreciation Banquet. The Tillys are members of the Krewe of Troubadours in Lafayette.
In his spare time, John enjoys playing chess, watching football, reading, duck hunting and spending time with his family.
